Annual Catholic School Scholarship Award Ceremony
The Annual Catholic School Scholarship Awards ceremony, held each April, serves as a momentous occasion where we come together to celebrate the remarkable achievements of students who have excelled in the Essay Scholarship competition, representing eligible CBN-MC member Catholic Schools. At this special event, CBN-MC honors seventh-grade students for their exceptional essay quality, granting scholarships ranging from $1000 to $2500. This past April, we were proud to recognize the accomplishments of 18 outstanding students, awarding a total of $20,000 in Essay Scholarships. Students, along with their parents, principals, and pastors, were warmly welcomed as our honored guests. Following the ceremony, Essay Scholarship checks are made available for pickup by the school principal or representative, with funds written directly to the schools to be applied towards eighth-grade year tuition. These scholarships are made possible through the remarkable generosity of our Leading Sponsors and the revenue generated from CBN-MC memberships.
In addition to the Essay Scholarships, we extend our support through Needs-Based Scholarships to elementary Catholic schools that hold an active CBN-MC School membership. These scholarships, allocated based on financial need, are sent directly to the Principals. The funds for these scholarships are generously sourced from donations at our Gala and the annual contribution of $10,000 from the John C Grimberg Company. In 2024, CBN-MC awarded a total of $40,000 in need-based scholarships, underscoring our unwavering commitment to supporting students in our community who require financial assistance to pursue their Catholic education.
Moreover, we were thrilled to announce the recipients of our School Project Grants, which provided crucial funding for various initiatives aimed at enhancing the learning environment. Projects ranged from installing new carpets to implementing keyless entry for enhanced safety measures, acquiring smartboards, and creating handicapped-accessible playgrounds. This year, we were proud to have provided grants to 17 deserving schools, totaling $17,000. These grants, which funded a portion of each project, were awarded to all qualified projects from Catholic schools that held an active CBN-MC membership, reflecting our ongoing dedication to supporting educational endeavors within our community.
This is a great event as we get to see our mission of supporting Catholic Schools come alive. Attendance is 120-150.
